Zoom has a wonderful options for you to blur your background or use a virtual background. Many tutors enjoy decorating the wall behind them to look like a classroom, but there is also the option to use a virtual, digital background built into Zoom. This is not required by BookNook, but we've had many requests asking how to do this and hope the information below helps.
Checkout this help article from Zoom here about how to change your Zoom background. There are instructions for those using a green screen and those without.
We've put together a Google Drive folder of BookNook branded backgrounds, in case you wish to use one.
Important Notes:
-Tutors should use their professional judgement when choosing to upload images to serve as their virtual background.
-Using a virtual background may slow down the speed of your connection. Please keep this in mind when choosing whether or not to use a virtual background.
-The Zoom virtual background function will work best when you have bright lighting in the room. Without good lighting, the program will struggle to distinguish your background from the tutor.
-You can always preview what your video will look like by utilizing the video setting menu in Zoom or starting a new Zoom meeting.
